By using RentRecord, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information: Email address provided at registration
• Log entries: Text descriptions, categories, dates, and notes you enter
• Attachments: Photos, images, or files you upload to records
• Communications: Any messages you send to us (e.g., support emails)

• Device information: Device type, operating system, browser type and version
• Log data: IP address, pages accessed, timestamps, login and logout times
• Usage data: Features used, records created, exports generated

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect payment card data, SSNs, government IDs, precise geolocation, biometric data, or sensitive health information.

SECTION 2 — HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information solely to provide and operate the RentRecord service, manage your account, detect fraud, comply with legal obligations, and respond to support requests.

We do NOT sell your data, target you with ads, build advertising profiles, or share your records with any external party.

SECTION 3 — HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes.

3.2 Limited Sharing

We may share your information only with: (a) service providers who operate infrastructure on our behalf, bound by contract; (b) law enforcement when legally required; (c) a successor entity in the event of a business transfer (with prior notice to you).

3.3 No Sharing Between Tenants and Landlords

Records you create in RentRecord are private to you only. We do not share your records with any landlord, tenant, property manager, or any other party.

SECTION 4 — DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your data is stored on secured servers in the United States. We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of storage is 100% secure; we will notify you of any breach as required by law.

SECTION 5 — DATA RETENTION

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it.

SECTION 6 — YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

We will respond to all verifiable requests within 30 days.

SECTION 7 — COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that track you across other websites.

SECTION 8 — CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

RentRecord is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at support@rentrecord.app.

SECTION 9 — CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what data we collect, delete their data, opt out of the sale of their data (we do not sell data), and non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Contact us at support@rentrecord.app to exercise these rights.

SECTION 10 — CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
